At present there is no direct option for the franchise / store manager to suo moto check the book inventory with physical without updating the stock.
right now the franchise / store manager have to ask HO to make a plan removing the check box of stock update everytime he/she plan to check the inventory. Not only it is time consuming but there is a risk that if while making plan the check box of stock update is not removed then there is a possibility of unmonitored stock update which can have serious financial impact.
It is therefore there should be a form at the POS level where the franchise / manager may simply select one div /sec /dept and populate the book stock and in the same form there should be an option of scanning the existing stock and the variation can be shown simply in the grid against each barcode.
The user should be able to save the entry for future reference and there should be an option of taking print of the entry. This will enable the franchise / manager to refer to earlier stock count in case some difference found in the subsequent stock count.
