The software behaves in a very abnormal way if someone created Section or Department with same name. Some of the noted points are below:
1- In group master on the left hand side the Division , Section , Department information will not be show (specially Department) if there is Duplicate Department Name.
2- In the search window of Modify Manage Item / Select Item after selecting the Department Name the section name will go blank, happening in case Section name is duplicate.
3- Default article will not get created against the duplicate section or the tagging will be mismatch.
4- In case someone time tries to resolve it from fronted the Article name is not updated thus the same is not visible in frontend or search criteria.
