While item creation, user needs few different value for the respective category which does not belongs to the selected department where as the same category value has already been enter against other department. In that scenario how it would be mapped.

There are two LOV options to select Categories while doing Item Creation in one user can select the Category within the Department whereas the other LOV allowed to select direct from the master. Thus you can opt for the second LOV to select the Category which is already defined in the other Department.
