Today while working on Job Order form, I have simply searched for a value “32016” in job order no. and found that system have shown 6 entries belonging to 6 previous years, in D2K the system used to restrict the data for a year but now there doesn’t seems to be any such restriction and the entire 6 years data remains active / populated at the back end – I am not sure but ideally there should be a mechanism of segregating the database for earlier years so that at any given point of time, only current year and previous years data remains active and data prior to that remains in Archive Mode and can be used only at report level
There is also risk / potential of user work on wrong data or share wrong information with others if by mistake he/she opens the earlier years entry by omission and therefore we must find a way to restrict this data population anyhow.
