In lieu of allocation engine, it would be helpful to have a order processing workbench similar to accounts payable processing workbench.
Ability to sort and filter pending orders by order size, last dispatch date and qty, order fill ratio, credit balance, credit days, customer category and such factors. One important fact which is not normally visible is last dispatch data and qty.
